Today is the day that Jessie Humphries’ sequel, RESISTING RUBY ROSE, releases! I’m so excited for Jessie! She’s an amazing person in that not only is she incredibly smart, witty, a great speaker with an awesome personality, but she’s generous, kind and one of the most thoughtful people I know. I had the joy of touring with her and boy did we have the time of our lives.
As you know I loved KILLING RUBY ROSE so much. It’s the action, the love story, and the mystery make this thriller series so amazing. And let me tell you, RESISTING RUBY ROSE does not disappoint!
RESISTING RUBY ROSE takes Ruby even deeper into the world of the CIA as complications arise when her family and friends are threatened at a whole new level. When she’s offered to join up with an elite force of young assassins, Ruby’s choices are become increasing difficult. The stakes are raised in this gripping sequel and the plot is even more intense and grim.
In RESISTING RUBY ROSE, Ruby is as ever the passionate, deep, and complex character she was in KILLING RUBY ROSE. I love Ruby because she stands up for those she loves and the issues that she believes in.
Humphries is one of those authors that no matter what she writes, it’s filled with intensity and passion. She knows how to tell a story and suck you right into the amazing world she’s created. I highly recommend this book. It’s a sequel with a delicious mystery that will keep you flipping the pages all night long and end with you only wanting more.
Here’s the blurb:
Still reeling from the heartbreaking events that unfolded on Grissom Island, Ruby Rose is trying to come to terms with the fact that she’s gone from a vigilante in killer shoes to a stone-cold killer. Everyone from her therapist to her smoking-hot boyfriend keeps trying to convince her that she hasn’t crossed over to the dark side, but Ruby isn’t so sure. It doesn’t help that her nemesis, Detective “Mastermind” Martinez, is still out there, waiting for another chance to take her down.
When an alleged CIA agent named Skryker shows up and asks for a meeting, Ruby figures it just means more questions about her case. But he has information of an entirely different nature and a job offer: join an elite force of young assassins, including Skryker’s right-hand guy, Quinn Donovan. Quinn is distractingly charming, handsome—and deadly. Ruby resists becoming a killer again, but as she becomes more ensnared in a web of deceit, no one around her is safe.
You’re so kind, Christy. How much do I owe you for all your nice words? Please don’t say a $1/compliment because I’ll owe you for a long time!!! xoxo
