What I love the most about the New Year is the feeling of fresh starts. It’s like someone handing you a sparkly clean plate and saying “Fill it up!”
And that’s exactly what I plan on doing. Last year I had a list of goals and in looking back I achieved all my goals except for my revisions of my MG- Chosen Warrior. (WOW!) But this year I want to push myself harder and dig deeper.
This year my goals appear simple, but I’m in the camp that believe my goals must be within my control. (For instance, I’d love to get a book contract but I have no control over that.)
So 2010 will be:
1. Push myself on my craft of writing- specifically in bringing my characters to life and trying out a new POV.
2. Read, read, read
3. Finish revising Chosen Warrior- submit it
4. Finish and revise Gilded- submit it
5. I will conquer the dreaded query!
Then non-related writing stuff:
1. Move back to the US and try to adjust
2. Get a job (grin)
I have a feeling that 2010 is going to be a full one. I can’t wait to see what it will bring!
Sounds like some great goals! I’ve decided to try affirmations with a sprinkle of goals this year instead of resolutions…I’ve never been much good at keeping my resolutions…
Wow–you are digging deeper! Good luck!!
What a year for you ahead! I’m excited for you!
Good luck!
Happy New Year, Christina! Good luck on accomplishing your goals!
My resolutions are much easier:
1) Go for more long walks,
2) Read more;
3) Write more;
4) Take more long hot soaks in the tub
😉 I believe in setting goals I can attain – love that sense of accomplishment
Great goals. I wish you success in all of them. I’m doing affirmations with Brenda.
Best wishes for you and your goals in the New Year. I vow to read and submit more, myself.
great goals – cant wait to watch you achieve them 🙂
Great goals – power to you!
Wow, Christina, that’s a lot of goalage! Let us know when you want encouragement. You can do it!
Thanks guys for all the encouragement! That means a lot to me.
