HONORARIUM

  • School Visit Half Day $800—Up to 2 sessions (45 min each) + 1 autograph session
  • School Visit Full Day $1200— Up to 4 sessions (45 min each) + 2 autograph sessions
  • School Visit Full Day Plus $1500 – Up to 4 sessions (45 min) + 2 autograph sessions + literacy night or night event
  • Literacy Night $500—1 session (30-45 min) + autograph session

Note: Outside Central Florida— schools are responsible for round-trip airfare (or in Florida milage), hotel, and local ground transportation. Outside of US, schools also provide meals.

Schools receive a flyer, pre-visit video, pre-visit activities, workshop handouts, and book order forms to be used in their school for promotion.

Journey into the world of Word Weavers with Christina Farley and discover Word Weaver writing tips. Gain an insider’s peek at Christina’s writing process, the travels that inspired her books, and ask those burning questions during the wrap-up Q&A session. This fun, interactive talk will hopefully inspire and challenge students that their words have power.

Rising AboveGrades 6-12

In this presentation, attendees will take a journey through the process of how her stories came to be from conception to publication along with Christina’s own personal journey as a writer. This inspirational talk stems from her experiences living overseas and how she stepped beyond wanting to make a difference to taking action.

Awakening the Story WithinGrades 3-12

How does a book evolve from a mere idea into its actual book form? Attendees will discover how a writer takes an idea and builds it into a story as well as insights into the process of writing and publishing a book.

The Adventure Begins: Write a Book from Start to Finish Grades 3-12

In this workshop, attendees will embark on their own adventure as they create stories. Students will learn how to write a book step by step, building characters, constructing a plot, and creating a unique world.

Enter the Magical World of Hogwarts Publishing Grades 3-12

Have you ever felt like the world of publishing is a lot like entering the magical world of Harry Potter? You must receive a special invitation via owl, stand on Platform 9 ¾ for entrance, and possess certain magical powers. But in reality, publishing is a feat that even Muggles like you can achieve! In this talk, students will gain tips to achieve those ‘magical writer abilities,’ learn the process to get an agent, and get an insider peek into the world of publishing.

Escape Room! (Potting) Grades 3-12

Put your plotting and deductive reasoning skills to the test! Tasked by the Word Weaver Organization, students will choose their mission where their characters must escape a place. Using fun storyboarding techniques, they will brainstorm as a group and learn how to create a strong story plot that will be sure to leave them laughing and highly motivated long after the session has completed.

World building has never been more fun than to get out and explore the world. In this interactive workshop, students will use real world cultures to build the world of their imagination. Students will leave this workshop with a map of their world and ‘suitcase’ of objects from their explorations.

Build a Fantasy World Grades 4-12

Attendees will look at ways to design a fantasy world using maps, genealogical charts, histories and unique twists. They will create rules for their characters and work on world-building without performing an information dump. Plus, participants will collaborate with fellow creatives, sparking new ideas and pushing the boundaries of their imagination.

Raise Your Voice Grades 4-12

Students will be exposed to various texts and books, which show examples of various voices. Students will explore dialogue in text as well as in film and study sentence structure and tone. Finally, participants will leave with a short fiction or non-fiction piece exhibiting voice.

Break free of flat, conventional characters. Find ways to bring characters into situations that allow them to show their true colors. Students will gain tips on creating characters that grow and change throughout the story by studying characters in their favorite films.

It’s All in the Evidence (Essay Prep Workshop)

This presentation teaches essay organization and provides students how to be thorough and convincing in their essay responses. Students will be exposed to examples of elaboration and sentence structure, provided techniques to use quotes, and given samples of smooth integration through transitions. They will also be shown how to use their facts and details effectively, as well as work with their words and vocabulary to convey purpose in their writing.
